5. The Vacation (October 1984) - Coming Soon
Al convinces Sam to join him on a long weekend shortly after Sam joins StarBright.  Murphy's Law takes over their planned vacation in every way possible.
 
  6.  Las Vegas (May 1985)
Against his better judgment, Sam let’s Al drag him off to Las Vegas for a mini-vacation.  The trip ends up being anything but a vacation.  This is the trip to Las Vegas mentioned in the story What Are Friends For?

Why did Donna leave Sam at the altar?
 
 
  8. Fall to Earth (September 1987) (co-written with asearcher)
Al convinces Sam to go on a vacation while waiting to learn if PQL has been funded.  In this prequel, things go very wrong…but Al and Sam learn about each other and their bond of friendship is strengthened and Al and Sam’s family develop a closer relationship as well.
 
 
9. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like...(December 1987)
A sequel to
Fall to Earth, it's less than a week before Christmas and Thelma is coming to New Mexico to spend the holidays with Sam.  He comes to the realization that his home is not ready to host his mother and drafts Al to assist him in the holiday preparations.

Sam and Al are a mile up in the air and when a need for medical help arises, they may as well 1,000 miles up.

An encounter at an ATM leads to a disquieting night for Sam.

A series of unfortunate events while in Washington, DC to obtain funding for the Project strengthens the ties of friendship between Sam and Al.

A sequel to What Doesn't Kill Us... Sam and Al spend time in Hawaii as Sam continues to recuperate from his injuries and they both come to terms with the emotional trauma of the accident.

Sam and Al go to the Colorado Mountains for the holiday.  In an unfortunate chain of events, nothing goes as planned.

Sequel to

Back in Socorro after the Cabin incident, Al, Sam, and Thelma spend a few days together. Tensions and laughter intermix, leading to Sam making his needs known.

Sam volunteers to baby sit his infant niece while visiting his sister in Hawaii.  Al, who’s along for the visit, gets drafted into helping.

A recurrent illness lands Sam in the hospital for some minor surgery.

Sam's in the wrong place at the wrong time.  A crossover with the  TV show "Diagnosis Murder".
 
  20. Broken Man (September 1991)
Al gets a call in the early hours of the morning to pick Sam up at the hospital after he falls asleep at the wheel.
 
21. Anniversary (June 1992)
An anniversary pushes Al to turn to the bottle. In turn, Sam has to cover up for him so he doesn’t get dismissed from the project.
 
  22. Three Point Shot (August 1992)
A basketball game goes awry resulting in a freak accident.
 
23. What Are Friends For (August 1993)
Overwork takes it's toll on Sam and Al is there to help pick up the pieces
